Standard
Every sitter in our network has passed one of the most thorough vetting processes in private placement. This is what that means.
1. APPLICATION REVIEW
Every candidate begins with a detailed written application. We review their experience, background, and why they are seeking placement- before any further steps are taken.
2. PERSONAL INTERVIEW WITH KATELYN
Each applicant is interviewed.
This is not a screening call. It is a deliberate conversation to assess temperament, professionalism, and genuine care for the homes and animals they serve.
3. IDENTITY & DOCUMENTATION VERIFICATION
Every sitter must provide a government issued photo ID, proof of address, and current auto insurance where applicable.
No exceptions.
4. REFERENCE CHECKS
Three references are requires and contacted directly- two property references from previous house sitting engagements , and one professional reference. We as specific questions, not just confirmation
5. COMPREHENSIVE BACKGROUND CHECK
Every applicant undergoes a full background screening through Checkr, covering all of the following:
NATIONAL CRIMINAL SEARCH
SEX OFFENDERS REGISTRY
GLOBAL WATCHLIST SEARCH
SSN TRACE
MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT*
*When applicable
6. FOUNDER APPROVAL
After all steps are complete, Katelyn makes the final decision. A passing background check is not an automatic acceptance. Every sitter must meet the Merit Standard- in character, in reliability, and in care.
